Perrelet, Swiss Manufacture, known for its innovative automatic watches, elegant designs and reliable movements makes its Bollywood silver screen debut in Tinu Suresh Desai’s latest directorial venture, Rustom.

The movie, presented by acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, stars Akshay Kumar in the titular role of naval officer Rustom Pavri. Based on true incidents, this is Kumar’s third project with Pandey after Special 26 and Baby, both critical and commercial successes.

Acknowledging the importance of timing – as well as sophistication – required by the main character, Perrelet presented the filmmaking team the original Perrelet “Dipteros” from its historic collection. The watch was a breakthrough in its time for being the world’s first “double rotor” timepiece – featuring a unique system that connected the rotor of the automatic system to a second rotor on the dial side. The rotation of the two perfectly synchronized oscillating weights powers the barrel and ensures a more efficient winding force.

Today, Perrelet’s First Class Double Rotor is a direct descendant of the Dipteros. Embodying the quintessence of remarkable industrial and artisanal expertise, presented in a 42.5mm steel or gold case, and powered by the in-house Calibre P-181 movement, it remains a testament to the innovative legacy of the Perrelet horological house.

A dashing naval officer, a beautiful wife and a perfect world. This was Naval Commander Rustom Pavri's life. Until one day he realizes his perfect life isn't what he thought it was. As events unfold we realize his wife is having an affair with his best friend. Three fatal shots change their lives.

Based on true events, Rustom, by Zee Studios and Kriarj Entertainment, is a gripping tale about pride, passion and power, and a man who must his uphold his own integrity and that of the nation.
Produced by Aruna Bhatia, Nittin Keni, Akash Chawla, Virender Arora, Ishwar Kapoor, Arjun N Kapoor and Shital Bhatia, Rustom hits cinemas on August 12, 2016.

Ariel “Tarzan” Sexton

Perrelet is pleased to announce Ariel Sexton, the famous mixed martial arts fighter, as “friend” of the brand. The encounter between Ariel and Perrelet happened thanks to Michael Hossli, owner of Hossli Jewelers in Costa Rica, one of our selected and prestigious retailers in the world and exclusive point of reference for fine timepieces.

Ariel Sexton is born in Vancouver (Canada) and raised in Costa Rica. Michael Hossli met Ariel about 14 years ago as client as he loves watches and has great passion for fine watchmaking. Later on, they became good friends and it was natural for Michael to choose him as the Ambassador of his company.

Hossli Jewelers allows a careful selection of top brands to be able to meet the demands of expert collectors and lovers of “time instruments”. Among these brands, Michael Hossli crossed his path with Perrelet and Ariel soon became “Friend” of the brand.
Perrelet, a name bound up with the origins of the automatic movement, is founded on a proud horological tradition faithfully perpetuated since 1777. Fueled by powerful creativity and a boundless spirit of innovation, the Swiss-based Maison offers devotees of fine watchmaking a range of exclusively mechanical and impeccable finished timepieces.

The Swiss watchmaker Perrelet stands out by the originality of its dials enlivened by the Double Rotor function patented in 1995 that has become a signature feature and which is proposed in different variation such as the Amytis for women and the Turbine.
As watch enthusiast Ariel “Tarzan” Sexton discovered the Perrelet brand at Hossli Jewelers some years ago, he was immediately fascinated by a Turbine model. He lives in the USA and chose a Turbine XL America, a watch issued in a special 777-piece limited edition. The Turbine collection’s signature 12-blade wheel rotates over a dial painted with the red and the white stripes of the American Flag. Make it twirl and the colors begin to dance featuring endless varied, random figures. Everything is a matter of speed; optical effects follow on from each other in a rapid-fire succession of an hour circle punctuated by blue squares bearing white stars representing the 50 American states.
As a very good “friend” and aficionado of Perrelet, Ariel regularly keeps an eye on the new creations the Swiss manufacture unveils each year.

“Turbine XL” Perrelet

The DNA of Perrelet with its signature “dial in motion” has many similarities with the values pursued by Ariel Sexton which made him famous worldwide for his activity as a fighter of mixed martial arts. His life is in constant motion too!

Ariel “Tarzan” Sexton, Hossli Jewelers and Perrelet; three different realities that all share the desire to enjoy what they do every day, always giving the best of themselves, whether it's training in sport to be a winner; choosing and proposing top brands in a jewelry; creating watches to satisfy the clients’ demands or producing timepieces following the art of the watchmaking tradition.

Perrelet and Sung Kang

Watchmaking brand Perrelet and action movie star Sung Kang join forces in Las Vegas to present their new joint creation.

Prestigious Swiss watchmaking brand Perrelet chose Las Vegas for the launch of its latest creation produced in partnership with renowned actor Sung Kang.

A two-stage presentation was planned for the Turbine Sung Kang, which is being released as a limited edition of 350 timepieces. On June 3rd, Perrelet presented this new and exclusive timepiece designed to provide drivers with improved legibility to an audience of industry professionals at JCK, the North American jewelry trade show, which introduced a “LUXURY Watch” space dedicated to watchmaking this year. Then, on June 4th, Perrelet and Sung Kang went on to present the result of their exciting partnership to the general public. As the model is an offset watch, what could be a more appropriate setting for unveiling Perrelet’s latest creation than “Cars and Coffee”, which takes place each weekend in Las Vegas?

“Cars and Coffee Las Vegas” is a fascinating and touching show that brings together enthusiasts of all types of cars, from classic or sports cars to concept cars, every Saturday morning. It is an occasion for automobile fans to display their own “four-wheeled toys”, swap news and opinions, discover the industry’s newest models, live and breathe the excitement of race tracks, enjoy great company... and, of course, drink a good cup of coffee!
Born to South Korean parents, American actor Sung Kang is well-known for his action films, which notably include the Fast and Furious franchise, in which he played the role of Han Lue in four of the seven movies, Live Free or Die Hard and Ninja Assassin to name just a few. He has also appeared in some very popular television series, such as NYPD Blue, Cold Case, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. An action enthusiast and true fan of fine mechanics, Sung Kang gladly accepted the opportunity to explore the prestigious world of watchmaking by helping Perrelet to design a timepiece that reflects his style and personality while retaining the Perrelet identity.

Sung Kang, whose name is mainly associated with high-adrenaline films—particularly those featuring cars driven at full throttle—is a lover and collector of both watches and cars. Attending “Cars and Coffee” with the Perrelet team and his sports car, the FuguZ, which has won awards on several occasions and inspired the design of the Turbine Sung Kang, the actor enjoyed sharing his experience of this exciting venture with the audience, driven by the same sense of motivation and passion that he has always devoted to designing and driving his own car.

Mechanical engineering, speed, precision, reliability and movement all epitomize the excitement of driving a race car and similarly characterize the innovations introduced by Perrelet creations.

The brand—which was founded in 1777 and went on to invent the automatic movement—introduced its Double Rotor technology in 1995, which brings watch dials to life in a unique way and has become a signature Perrelet feature. There are a number of versions of the Double Rotor: from the classic Double Rotor equipping the First Class Double Rotor collections to the more precious style driving the women’s Diamond Flower Amytis line, not forgetting the sportier rotors in the Turbine models, of course, whose blades move at the slightest movement of the wrist. An all-new interpretation of the latter is presented in the Turbine Sung Kang.

Perrelet launches its new "LAB" collection

An innovative new take on the dial of this refined and sporty line imbued with timeless style. At Baselworld 2016, Perrelet is launching its very latest creation: “LAB”.

Perrelet, a name bound up with the origins of the automatic movement, is founded on a proud horological tradition faithfully perpetuated since 1777 and that has never ceased to surprise observers. Fired by powerful creativity and a boundless spirit of innovation, the Swiss-based Maison offers devotees of fine watchmaking a range of exclusively mechanical and impeccable finished timepieces.

After broadening the classic “First Class” line in recent years, as well as enriching the ladies’ collection with “Amytis”, and the sportier “Turbine” range, the new “LAB” model heralds a casual chic collection admirably complementing the current collections. Building on its mastery of all phases involved in producing a watch in-house via its own Manufactures, ranging from the development and production of movement components – including the escapement, the regulating organ and the balance-spring – to designing and crafting the cases, dials and finishing work, Perrelet has thus given rise to the LAB.

This timepiece remains true to the values and DNA of the brand with its signature “dial in motion”. While the many variations of the latter include the classic Double Rotor, the Turbine or the Amytis for women, Perrelet has opted for a discreet and refined version in the LAB line. Its Manufacture movement enables the LAB to combine technical perfection with a captivating and innovative design. The stainless steel 42 x 42 mm case is cushion-shaped with soft, rounded lines along with brushed and polished lugs. The case middle features a vertical decoration composed of tiny raised rectangles. The polished octagonal bezel with its satin-brushed profile endow the model with considerable character. The case-back fitted with a sapphire crystal is assembled with six screws, forming a sturdy and strong case guaranteed water-resistant to 5 bar.

Particular attention has been devoted to the architecture of the dial boasting an original construction. A three-dimensional effect is achieved by the multi-level structure graced with a variety of finishes. The dial available in silver-toned, anthracite or black versions features a central part adorned with vertical lines, while the rim is circular-brushed. The cut-out hour-markers enhanced with white SuperLuminova are applied to a sapphire crystal ring, giving the impression that they are literally floating on air. The unusual decision to use a transparent element was specifically intended to enable the owner of the LAB watch to admire the most distinctive feature of this timepiece: its oscillating weight.

While the latter is generally visible through the case-back, the LAB watch enables passionate devotees of the watchmaking art to observe the motion of the oscillating weight while reading the time. This technical innovation was made possible by Caliber P-411, produced within the Manufacture. The oscillating weight is fixed to a toothed wheel (with toothing on the inside) known as a “couronne”, itself positioned on the outer part of the movement that meshes with a pinion placed on the outer rim of the movement. The rotor is adorned with a screw-down plate bearing a slanted-line decoration that may be admired through the transparent hours ring.

Displaying the hours, minutes and seconds by central hands and the date at 6 o’clock, the LAB has a 42-hour power reserve. The watch is fitted with a black alligator leather strap and a stainless steel folding clasp with the Perrelet logo.

Turbine GMT by Perrelet

A traveler’s soul
Turbine GMT by Perrelet

What time is it in snow-covered Manhattan when you wake up in the heat of Cape Town? What time is it in Moscow, Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris…? The question is now redundant. Or rather, the answer is now simple.
Perrelet is launching the Turbine GMT, a watch with a traveler’s soul equipped with a dual time-zone function.
The hand indicating the second time zone is adjusted using the crown, as are the hour hands, to ensure user-friendly functionality.
Steel was the obvious choice for this sporty, contemporary watch. Beneath a sapphire crystal, the generous 44 mm diameter case houses the famous bladed dial of the Turbine collection. An original 3D effect transports you to the very heart of the watch, where a turbine in blue or black anodized aluminum reveals, with each movement of the wrist, an under-dial decorated with Côtes de Genève and delicately engraved with a map of the world. The sapphire crystal dial features a series of Arabic numerals and applied hour-markers.
The watch is driven by the automatic Manufacture P-401 caliber, which can be admired through the transparent case back and provides a power reserve of 42 hours.
The Turbine GMT is available in four versions: classic black or on-trend Pacific blue, with either a matching rubber strap or an alligator strap.

Perrelet’s iconic Turbine collection welcomes a new model which pays tribute to the Chinese Year of the Monkey.
Creativity, technique and craftsmanship are three words that perfectly summarize the values of Perrelet, and the “ Chinese Turbine- Edition Year of the Monkey” is a concrete expression these principles.

The distinctive styling of this timepiece immediately draws attention to the dial side. The twelve blades of the emblematic turbine are finely decorated with the 12 Chinese horoscope signs, highlighting the Monkey at 6 o’clock with a touch of brilliant red colour. The black under-dial repeats this imagery, displayingthe Chinese monkey sign in vivid red.

With its unique look, the hour, minute, and second functions are legible through the central hands on the outer ring. The red second hand harmoniously matches the colour of the Monkey and the Chinese sign below the blades.

The three-piece bold round case is available in stainless steel with black PVD coating and has an integrated crown at 3 o’clock.

The timepiece is fitted with Perrelet’s in-house P-331 automatic caliber, providing an optimal power reserve of 42 hours. The sapphire crystal caseback enables the owner to admire the beauty of the movement.

Presented in a unique edition of 82 pieces, the “Chinese Turbine – Edition Year of the Monkey” is an exclusive and original addition to the Perrelet collection.

The watch is completed by a black rubber strap with a steel black PVD-coated folding clasp.

The Turbine Sheriff by Perrelet on behalf of Only Watch

Immerse yourself for just a moment in your childhood memories and travel back in time. You are in hot pursuit of the bad guy, equipped with your popgun and proudly wearing a sheriff’s badge on your chest. With its Turbine Sheriff watch exclusively created for the Only Watch charity auction, this is precisely the fond memory that Perrelet invites you to relive.
For all those who enjoy indulging in a bit of nostalgia, Perrelet has created a one-of-a-kind Turbine Sheriff watch. It stands out with its 48mm-diameter pink gold case middle creating a striking contrast with the black PVD-coated bezel and alligator leather strap. The exhibition back provides a chance to view its in-house mechanical self-winding movement: Perrelet Caliber P-331.
The standout originality of the watch lies in the dial, on which the customary blades of Perrelet’s iconic Turbine model have been replaced by a black gold-tipped sheriff’s star. As it turns, the latter reveals a humoristic inscription on the under-dial in reference to the great American Western movies.

This timepiece thereby pays a highly original tribute to the founder, Abraham-Louis Perrelet, pioneer of the self-winding movement in 1777, to whom the brand owes its innovative character and its avant-garde spirit.

“Only Watch” unites around 40 renowned watch brands that each donate a one-of-a-kind creation to the auction on behalf of the Monaco Association against Muscular Dystrophy (AMM) created by parents of children affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The 6th edition of this biennial charity auction will take place on November 2015 in Geneva.
Prior to that, the first leg of the collection’s promotional world tour will be held at the heart of the flagship Monaco Yacht Show from September 23rd to 26th and then followed by an itinerary including stop-overs in Europe, the United States and Asia.

First Class & First Class Skeleton with gold case

Perrelet: showcasing a stunning dialogue between gold and tradition

Glowing since the dawn of time on every precious treasure, gold finds its natural place on a Perrelet watch. Embodying the encounter between age-old legend and one of the most distinguished creative traditions in fine watchmaking, gold nobly enhances the four newcomers to the First Class and First Class Skeleton line.

Designed to appeal to the discerning eye of the connoisseur, including by its fluted profile, the 4N 18K pink gold case of these four new First Class and First Class Skeleton models measures 42.50 mm in diameter and 10.70 mm thick. These are perfect dimensions in which to house a Manufacture-made mechanical automatic Perrelet movement: the P-321 driving three hands and a date at 6 o’clock for the former category; and the P-381 skeleton version with three functions for the latter. Both express the centuries-old horological mastery cultivated by Perrelet and fired by the spirit of its legendary founder.

Perrelet’s inherent perfectionism is reflected in every part composing its elegant creations, starting with the incredible feat represented by the skeleton-working of the P-381 movement. The latter is thus transformed into an exquisite metallic lacework, notably featuring the extreme hollowing of the winding weight bearing the brand initial and visible through the see-through sapphire crystal caseback glareproofed on both sides.

Also protected by a sapphire crystal glarperoofed on both sides, the dial tells its own fascinating story. Whether through the subtle composition of the classic First Class models or the more daring approach manifested in the First Class Skeleton creations, it draws all eyes. On the First Class models, its raised, finely grained and guilloché texture comes in a choice of black or white versions, punctuated by baton-type hour-markers swept over by three hands. The First Class Skeleton models feature a large central opening revealing the intricate workings of the gleaming Perrelet movement.

To secure these exceptional creations to the wrist, Perrelet has chosen a supple black or brown alligator leather strap with a pin buckle also in 4N 18K rose gold. Through these First Class and First Class Skeleton models gracing the wrists of discerning individuals, aesthetes and collectors, gold continues to exercise its timeless fascination and to charm the gaze as much as the heart.

First Class & First Class Lady

The First Class line by Perrelet appears graced with new dials

Building on a heritage stretching back more than 230 years, Perrelet is strongly attached to traditions. It is capable of offering watchmaking interpretations that are both contemporary and ageless, while placing aesthetic purity in the service of mechanical beauty.

The classic First Class family is a perfect demonstration of this approach. It comprises a range of elegant and timeless timepieces for men and women, in three-hand plus date or visible balance-wheel versions. This collection is defined by a brushed or polished steel case – featuring simple lines and nicely balanced proportions – that is extremely pleasant to wear. The slim case middle is immediately recognizable by its brand-signature fluted motif along the sides. All variations are fitted with genuine black or brown alligator straps secured by a steel folding clasp with lateral pushbuttons.

The dials display a new appearance in keeping with the new aesthetic concept governing the dials and now implemented on all classic Perrelet models. This involves a depth-effect construction based on a grained central motif framed by a guilloché rim, a play on contrasts that further reinforces their character, while the facetted hour-markers lend a radiantly luminous touch.

Some of the ladies’ models have been treated to the same evolution, while others are fitted with black or white mother-of-pearl dial enhanced by gem-set hour-markers. Certain versions feature bezels adorned with a ring of 64 diamonds further accentuating their elegance. Housed in new 35 mm-diameter cases, the First Class Lady models exude an allure that is both trendy and extremely feminine.

The collections composing the First Class family are equipped with a mechanical automatic in-house movement: Caliber P-321 for the three-hand plus date models; and Caliber P-391 with visible balance wheel appearing through a dial opening at 6 o’clock. All of them are fitted with a transparent sapphire case back providing a chance to admire the mechanism.

These delightful new versions are bound to appeal to devotees of revisited classics.

Diamond Flower Amytis

PERRELET enriches its Diamond Flower feminine line with a new model named Diamond Flower Amytis: a collection designed “by women for women” and combining a unique technique with brilliant expertise. It embodies all the mastery of the watchmaking art along with a keen flair for feminine aesthetic details.

This name with age-old overtones is inspired by the history of the hanging gardens of Babylon, the stunning architectural treasures built by Nebuchadnezzar to remind his wife, Amytis of Media, of the forest-covered mountains of her native land. With its original Diamond Flower Amytis collection, PERRELET thereby pays tribute to one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and doubtless the most beautiful, while evoking the grace and beauty of Amytis of Media, Queen of Babylon.

The collection is equipped with a movement automatically wound via an oscillating weight, the Double Rotor P-181-H, patented by PERRELET and entirely produced within its Manufacture. It affords the opportunity of observing two rotors: one on the dial side, and the other on the movement side. Their perfectly synchronized coordination drives the barrel and ensures more efficient winding. This fascinating mechanism is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, since it was developed by the brand engineers in 1995 and has been regularly reinterpreted ever since. In the Diamond Flower Amytis collection, the rotor on the dial side depicts flower petals swaying in time with wrist movements and creating a suspended effect in reference to the hanging gardens of Babylon. Each woman thus plays an active role in the life of her watch through her own gestures.

The collection is composed of three models, featuring a stainless steel 36.5 mm-diameter stainless steel case fitted with a see-through sapphire crystal caseback. A model with a black or white mother-of-pearl dial and matching alligator leather strap is enhanced by an openworked Double Rotor shaped like flower petals and partially set with diamonds. Another even more precious version is distinguished by a diamond-set bezel framing a white and anthracite dial, while the Double Rotor is adorned with petals and enhanced by white mother-of-pearl and diamonds. On all three models, elegant Roman numerals converging towards the center endow this collection with an ultimate touch of character and originality,
This contrasting color palette will elegantly accompany every woman in her daily life. The visual impact of the Double Rotor lends a subtle aura of refinement that will appeal to women eager for exclusivity. Through this Diamond Flower Amytis, PERRELET’s famous Double Rotor is once again magnified in a creation reflecting the beauty of women and echoing the style of an ancient era.

First Class Double Rotor Skeleton

Double Rotor 20th Anniversary model

In this exclusive limited series produced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its invention, PERRELET raises the Double Rotor mechanism to a new peak or refinement.

With the First Class Double Rotor Skeleton, equipped with an in-house Manufacture movement, Caliber P-481, PERRELET associates the horological tradition of its innovative Double Rotor concept with its skeleton-work expertise. Through this ingenious combination, the openworked dial enables the eye to rove freely into the depths of the mechanism, gently rocked by the natural rhythm of the second rotor.

The collection introduces two original timepieces, of which each detail flaunts the brand’s watchmaking expertise. The 42.5 mm-diameter round case in stainless steel or 18K 4N rose gold is enhanced by elegant fluting on the sides, traditional decoration and the PERRELET signature. The finely fluted dial punctuated by golden hour-markers is generously openworked in the center to reveal the entire movement. The 18K 4N rose gold Double Rotor thus highlighted features a brand-new design with a “Côtes de Genève” finish and a special engraving to mark this jubilee. Loyal to its history, PERRELET has maintained the visible jewel at the center of the mechanism, thus enlivening the décor with a distinctive accent. A genuine alligator leather strap fitted with an 18K 4N rose gold folding clasp adds a final touch of elegance.

This splendid First Class Double Rotor Skeleton with its pure, restrained lines is issued in limited series of 250 for the steel model and 77 for the rose gold model. It admirably reflects the excellence of watchmaking expertise and is liberally inspired by the illustrious founder of the House. This collection embodies a new generation of timepieces exuding creative boldness while remaining firmly attached to the fundamentals of the Maison Perrelet.
