For lovers and connoisseurs of high-complication watches, this word alone is enough to trigger an instant emotional reaction. The ‘Tourbillon’ power transmission and regulation system is one of the most signifi cant developments in the history of watchmaking.
The ‘Tourbillon’ system was invented in 1801 by Abraham-Louis Breguet and offsets rate deviations caused by the effects of the earth’s gravity on the mechanism.
The Perrelet watchmakers decided to combine their tourbillon mechanism with another exceptional invention – the self-winding movement developed by Abraham-Louis Perrelet around 1770. This union resulted in the creation of one of the rare automatic fl ying tourbillons – with offcentre hour and minute hands – delivered complete with an offi cial chronometer certifi cate presented by the COSC (Swiss Offi cial Chronometer Control).
Available in a choice of steel or pink gold, this mechanical gem also comes in a limited, numbered edition of ten pieces in platinum, delivered with an individual handsigned certificate.
